Parquet flooring for underfloor heating
Multilayer parquet flooring is best suited to in-floor heating.
The harder a wood floor, the better it will conduct heat. Most hardwoods are well suited to this use; heat resistance must not exceed 0.15m≈K/W.
Parquet floors and types of heating
Systems of electric underfloor heating with storage and underfloor heating with synthetic tubes can be covered by parquet flooring. The temperature of the floor surface must never exceed 28°C, which is generally the case with low temperature heating systems.
The professional opinion of emois & bois on installing parquet flooring with underfloor heating
On an in-floor heating system, solid wood flooring will undergo more stress than on a non-heated floor.
If you do not mind seeing the seams widen slightly or a few deformations, go ahead and select the solid wood floor of your choice, but do avoid the widest boards. If you want your wood floor to stay as constant as possible, we recommend choosing a high-quality model of engineered multi-layer parquet.
